Location: Schaumburg, IL 60173

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, but may start as early as 7am

Travel Required: 25%-49%

Pay: $75,000 - $130,000, plus bi-annual bonuses based on performance

An industry leading electronic components manufacturer is seeking a driven Account Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for leading sales efforts and managing strategic accounts within an assigned region. Key duties include overseeing direct and distributor sales, supporting design-in and reference design initiatives, and driving business development for both new and existing customers. The primary goal is to increase sales and profitability while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. As the main point of contact, this person will handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and manage all communications and visits to meet account objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Identify and pursue sales opportunities, develop strategic plans, meet sales targets, and monitor KPIs.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Serve as primary contact for customers, provide technical solutions, secure design wins, and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, technical support, distributors, and supply chain teams to meet customer needs.
  • Market Analysis: Report on market trends, competitive positioning, and new opportunities.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare accurate forecasts, reports, input sales activities into database, and issue quotes per company policies.
  • Global Coordination: Collaborate with global teams to grow international business.
  • Product Promotion: Deliver presentations, promote new products, and participate in training to enhance product knowledge.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication.
    • Knowledge or interest in electronic engineering and OEM products.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for customer visits.
    • Fluency in Japanese preferred but not required.
